Но есть другое, менее убедительное предположение, что это слово происходит от имени Guy Fawkes (Гай Фокс) (1570—1606), английского заговорщика, который пытался взорвать здание парламента в 1605 г. и чьё чучело сжигается ежегодно на Bonfire Night, Guy Fawkes Night (Ночь Гая Фокса, 5 ноября).
